CHIRLA, in partnership with LACAHSA, is launching a renter protection and homelessness prevention program to support families in Los Angeles County.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Reside in Los Angeles County

  • Have a household income at or below 80% of Area Median Income (AMI)

  • Be part of an eligible renter household

  • Have experienced an emergency, crisis, or unexpected event within the past 12 months

Required Documentation

Applicants must be able to provide the following:

  • Proof of income

  • Lease agreement or written documentation of a rental agreement

  • Proof of past rent payments

  • Documentation of past-due rent, an eviction notice, or another official notice
